VISION AND PURPOSE

At Redemption Edmonton:

Our Mission is "to see lost kids saved, saved kids matured, and mature kids multiplied, all to the glory of God."

Our Vision is to see the hearts and lives of kids and families transformed by the power of the gospel as it is taught in every lesson, craft and activity.

Redemption Kids is a place for children to make friends, have fun, and most importantly learn about Jesus Christ!

We desire to lay a strong biblical and Christ-centred foundation in the lives of our children. We want to see each child grow in their relationship with God and become life-long followers of Jesus Christ.
We earnestly desire children to recognize the gospel as their hope (Col 1:23), their strength (Rom 5:2), the way they grow (Gal 3:1-3) and are renewed (Col 1:6), what they obey (2 Thes 2:13-15) and the means of living a worthy life (Phil 1:27).
We love children. Children are vital to our society and God’s Kingdom (Matthew 19:14). We want your child to build their life on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:24-27).
We want to partners with parents to provide care and spiritual direction for newborns through Grade 6.
We have the same discipleship goals for children as we do adults, namely that they abide in Christ, grow in the church, and reach the community. We cannot properly make disciples without an intentional, discipleship emphasis on children.

CLASSES AND CURRICULUM

Redemption Kids Programming:

NURSERY

Parent and Child Open Room (6 months - 2 years old) - a room with sermon audio for parents to utilize during the worship service. There are toys available.
Toddlers (2 - 4 year olds)

GRADE SCHOOL

Ages 5 - 10 years old

*We currently run our Grade School classroom on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month.

We use Truth78 and The Gospel Project curriculum and value gospel-centred, gospel-rich lessons.

We offer classes during our service that are designed to minister to children. All children are dismissed during the worship service prior to the sermon and will go to class with their teachers. Parents please check in your child(ren) before the service.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should my child bring a Bible?

Yes! We encourage the children to find the Bible story in their Bible, even if they can’t read. We want children to be familiar with the Bible, even from a young age – what books are in it and what it says.
Our Kids spend a portion of their lesson time in a Bible study.
If your child does not have a Bible, please let our Volunteers know and we can send one home with you.

Will my child get a snack?

Our Grade School class does not receive snacks, however, they may, on occasion receive a treat during class.
Our Infant/Toddler class receive a snack (Cheerios). We do have other options available, so please speak to our Volunteers if you need us to provide an alternative. Our volunteers do check any allergies.

What does a typical Sunday look like?

You will be greeted by our Welcome Team as you enter the building. You will see our Redemption Kids check-in table where you will be check-in your children and receive a name tag for each child and a security tag for parents. (Please retain this security tag as it will be needed to check your child(ren) out of their classroom. This ID number will also be shown on the screen during the service if you are needed in your child’s classroom.)
Please ensure that your child has gone to the washroom or has a clean diaper before the service starts.
All children remain with their families during our time of corporate worship during the main service. Before the sermon, kids are dismissed to their various classes. Our teachers will be waiting to guide them to their classroom.
After the service ends, parents are asked to promptly pick-up their children from their classrooms by presenting their security tag to one of the volunteers in their child’s class. If you have more than one child, you will use the same sticker to check-out your children from each of their classes.
